Indulging in chilli crabs
Singapore Seafood Republic which houses Singapore’s best-loved dining brands including Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant, Tung Lok Seafood, The Seafood International Market & Restaurant and Jumbo Seafood under one roof is a haven for seafood aficionados.
Located at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore Seafood Republic first made its foray in Shinagawa, Tokyo in April 2008 with Japanese Partner – restaurant wonderland M.R.S. The restaurant was a huge success and a second branch was established in Tokyo in December 2008. With a market presence of over 150 years under its belt, Singapore Seafood Republic launched its third outlet at Resorts World Sentosa in October 2010. Two other outlets were introduced after that, one in Osaka in 2011 and the other one in Gotanda, Tokyo in 2013.
Singapore Seafood Republic offers iconic heritage seafood favourites of Palm Beach, Tung Lok, The Seafood International and Jumbo Seafood.
Here are some of my favourite dishes at The Seafood International.

Singapore Chilli Crab ($61.20)
An award-winning dish, this is not to be missed by crustacean lovers. The crabs are cooked in a robust, tangy and piquant sauce which offers a lovely contrast to the sweet succulence of the crabs. This creation is best savoured with steamed or deep-fried mantou. Every mouthful is bursting with flavour and goodness.

Steamed Bamboo Clam with Minced Garlic ($14)
The live bamboo clams are steamed with fragrant minced garlic and light soya sauce. The sweet taste and chewy texture outlines its freshness.

Deep-fried prawns with wasabi mayo ($24)
Coated with a light batter, the prawns are fried to golden brown perfection. The wasabi mayo gives it a delightful Japanese twist and adds a mustard-like tang to the prawns, unleashing satisfaction in every bite.

Steamed Cod with Soya Sauce ($22)
A perennial favourite, the cod has a smooth texture and alluring sweet taste, satiating the palates of those who have a soft spot for fish. A very healthy dish, which will definitely appeal to health conscious diners.

Braised rice noodles with freshly peeled crab meat ($38)
The rice noodles are delicately braised in a flavourful superior stock and topped with fresh succulent crab meat, adding hints of sweetness to this legendary dish.

Mango sago with pomelo ($5)

Chilled mango pudding ($5)
Desserts nicely rounded up the meal, guaranteed to please those with a sweet tooth. To cleanse your taste buds, go for the mango sago with pomelo - a cool, refreshing dessert composed of mango, pomelo, sago, coconut milk, cream and sugar or the chilled mango pudding - an all-time favourite which abounds with fresh chunks of mango.
